Helping Hands for the Holidays
The members of de jure Plan Council Ontario want to assist all the people of Ontario in whatever way we can, but with our Helping hands Initiatives we want to help those less fortunate.
Our goal is to assist as many people as possible and give the gift of giving to ourselves and others.
When helping other you not only make a difference in someone’s life you get an amazing sense of accomplishment and joy many times more than what you give. Join us in working together to help others in need.
Food Bank
Help Eradicate Hunger
Many families are facing hunger for the first time, help ensure that the food banks are all well stocked and have all they need to support families and individuals in need.
Food Banks Canada reported over a million visits in 2019. Anything you can offer will make a difference for someone in need. You can call your local food bank to do a needs assessment. Each area may have different needs. Some may need volunteers, or cash donations to pay utilities or for gift cards for groceries and other necessities, and some may need community food drives. Check in and see where to focus your initiatives.
There are many ways to help:
- Give food
- Organize a fundraiser
- Volunteer your time
- Financial donations

Feed Ontario
Give a Helping Hand in Ontario to End Hunger
Feed Ontario unites food banks, industry partners, and local communities to end hunger and poverty. Feed Ontario sources fresh food for Food Banks working in partnership with Ontario’s agricultural, food and grocery sectors to ensure the food Banks are stocked with fresh produce.
Feed Ontario’ Farm to Food Program
Developed in partnership with the Food Bank Windsor. Farm to food helps eliminate food waste and food insecurity and creates jobs and work experience for low-income individuals.
This program rescues surplus produce from local farms and it is made into healthy nutritious meals at the Winsor Food Bank state-of-the-art kitchen under the supervision of a Red Seal Chef. These meals are frozen and shared with the Food Banks and hunger-relief agencies across Ontario.
